35th NYS Men's Mid-Amateur Championship

Format
54 holes of individual stroke play.
Cost
The cost to qualify is $100 (includes cart at qualifying site). Players who advance through qualifying will be charged an additional $50 championship fee for a total entry of $150.
Eligibility
This championship is open to male amateur golfers who meet the following requirements:
- Membership: Be a member of the NYSGA, defined as either (1) belonging to an NYSGA member club or (2) joining the NYSGA as an 2018 NYSGA eClub member.
- Handicap: Have a USGA Handicap Index of no more than 9.4 or less at the time of registration
- Age: Be at least 25 years old as of September 28, 2018.
Sectional Qualifying
Non-exempt players must qualify (18 holes of individual stroke play) at one of the sectional qualifying sites listed below in order to compete in this championship. A player may attempt to qualify only once.

The Last Chance Qualifier will be held at Wanakah CC on Thursday, September 27. The entry fee is $120. Registration for this qualifier will open on August 16. Note that the number of qualifying spots available at this qualifier will be lower on a percentage basis than the regular qualifying sites.
Exempt Players
Players who are exempt are not required to qualify and must select the EXEMPT PLAYERS division during the registration process. Listed below are the exemption categories. Special exemption will be considered if a special request, and a tournament resume, is submitted to Andrew Hickey (andrew@nysga.org) by June 1, 2018 at 5:00 pm.
E1. Winners of the NYS Men's Mid-Amateur Championshiop from the last 10 years.
E2. From the 2017 NYS Men's Mid-Amateur Championship, the 20 lowest scorers and anyone tied for 20th place.
E3. Winners of the NYS Men's Amateur Championship from the last 10 years.
E4. From the 2017 NYS Men's Amateur Championship, the 20 lowest scorers and anyone tied for 20th place.
E5. Winners of the 2018 NYS Men's Amateur Four-Ball Championships.
E6. Winner of the 2018 NYS Men's Senior Amateur Championship.
E7. Most recent (as of September 28, 2018) winner or low amateur (*professional events) of the following regional championships:

E10. Special exemptions as selected by the NYSGA. Must have filed an entry by August , 2018. The submission of request along with playing resume must be received by Andrew Hickey (andrew@nysga.org) by August 10, 2018. Players must select a qualifying site at the time of entry.
Entry Deadline

Carts
A player may use a golf cart during all stages of this championship. The cart fee for the qualifying round is included in the entry fee. The use of pull carts is approved.
Caddies
A player may provide his own caddie. A player is not required to employ a caddie for any stage of this championship.
Refund Policy
The entry fee will be refunded if a player withdraws prior to the close of entries, less a $10 service fee.
